Working and treatment of Ezetimibe - Vytorin
Ezetimibe in Vytorin reduces cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. It is also used to increase the good cholesterol level that is the HDL in the blood. It reduces the risk of hardening of the arteries which leads to cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks, peripheral vascular disease and stroke.

Cholesterol and fats builds up along the walls of the blood vessels causing a decreased blood flow and oxygen supply to brain, heart and other parts of the body. By decreasing the levels of cholesterol and fats in the blood by Vytorin reduces the risks of developing certain coronary heart diseases such as angina, stroke, heart attack and other vascular diseases.

Ezetimibe in Vytorin acts on the brush border of the intestine and obstructs the cholesterol absorption which leads to a decreased level of intestinal cholesterol to the liver. The component called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors in Vytorin causes the decrease in the levels of hepatic cholesterol. It clears the cholesterol from blood vessels and reduces the risk of heart diseases.

Simvastatin in Vytorin reduces cholesterol by obstructing the conversion of HMG CoA reductase inhibitors to mevalonate which is an initial step in the formation of cholesterol. Simvastatin also reduces triglycerides and VLDL and increases HDL cholesterol.

Ezetimibe and Simvastatin in Vytorin slow down the formation of cholesterol and fatty substance in the blood vessels. It lowers total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides which is the chief cause of coronary artery disease. The effectiveness of this drug has caused many doctors to run tests on their patients and then prescribe this drug.
